Property Manager or Couple team needed to provide hands-on management and oversight of large farm/estate in Northwest Connecticut. Will be responsible for overseeing and providing hands-on maintenance for property and multiple homes and outbuildings. Will be responsible for overseeing other employees as well as outside vendors/contractors. Must be able to develop written manuals including preventative maintenance schedule/calendar for all equipment and homes on the property.

In addition the position entails supervising the maintenance and operations of a small near-by town shopping center with five established long-term tenants. The Property Manager will oversee two existing employees and will take direction from, and report to, the Owners of the property, a private family.

Seeking someone with basic trade skills, experience with household systems i.e. HVAC, alarm, and security. Supervise and complete when possible all aspects of grounds maintenance including but not limited to pasture management, fencing, brush hogging, forest trail maintenance, mowing, landscaping, indoor and outdoor pool maintenance, haying, vegetable and flower gardening and snow removal.

Ideal candidates will have the ability to establish goals and objectives for all property operations, including developing budgets and financial plans for the property while still providing hands-on maintenance and service. If couple team is hired, one member must be willing to take over the majority of cleaning needed on the property. Will have part-time and seasonal help available for deep cleaning and special projects. This is not a primary residence but must also be willing to provide cooking and laundry when principals are in residence.

The owners are strong advocates of conservation and environmental sustainability. Environmentally friendly practices should be utilized which minimize soil erosion/degradation and optimize natural resources and wildlife. Ideal candidates will be pro-active, self-starters with previous experience in a similar position. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Land or Forestry Management, or a similar discipline is a big plus.
