Live-in Farm Manager needed to provide hands-on work on historical farm in Menham, NJ area. The property currently focuses on sheep production, but the owners are willing to consider transitioning to other avenues that will be more productive or economical. The Farm manager will be responsible for taking on a number of projects on the property including all of the field and property maintenance including tree care (chainsaws are used frequently to remove downed tree limbs. The property also sells firewood locally), yard care and interacting with outside vendors as needed. Should be capable of working directly with the animals and overseeing their care and breeding program.

Candidates should be comfortable with basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting aspects and should understand how to appropriately operate the equipment. Must keep safety in mind at all times and wear appropriate safety equipment when operation chainsaws.

Farm manager will be responsible for upkeep of the fencing. Will be responsible for deploying temporary electric fencing and the rotation of the livestock to avoid over grazing. The property doesn’t use pesticides so weed control via mowing/weed wacking/bush hogging is required.

Florida: Farm Supervisor #932

Farm Supervisor needed for 100 acre Polo Farm & Private Residence in Wellington, FL. The farm supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the exterior maintenance of the facilities and the grounds on this high end estate which consists of a main residence, guest house, pool house, out buildings, and two large horse barns with large landscaped area. This person will interact with the Principals, guest and other VIPS’s on a frequent basis. Will be responsible for supervising staff and overseeing outside vendors as needed to meet the high standards of the property and keep it in pristine condition at all times. Must be capable of working in a team environment and working closely with Household staff and grounds crew to ensure the property is guest ready at all times.

Would prefer a candidate with above average mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with various farm tools to maintain and repair the structure, facilities and grounds when needed. Check and maintain plumbing, HVAC components, provide reporting on property maintenance activities and maintain detailed records for equipment and home details. Expert project management including: receiving & comparing bids, making intelligent and thoughtful recommendations, evaluating performance of vendors and close monitoring of all visitors to the estate. Manage vendors, such as gardeners, and potential construction projects.

Candidates with a background in Agronomy are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be knowledgeable about the relationship between farm operations and local environmental conditions. Must be able to provide general administrative and office work. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and be willing to Provide coverage on the weekends or other days off as needed during busy polo season.
