Dynamic Couple Team (Nanny/Herdsman duo)
This is a full-time, live-in position for a dynamic couple team in Sheridan, WY that is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of a 15 month old boy (nanny) and the partner would work on the ranch itself (herdsman). See below for both descriptions:
Nanny position:
Daytime supervision to ensure the child’s safety and well-being. This role requires feeding child nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day to ensure he is adequately fed and engaging him in games and activities throughout the day to keep him entertained and active. The day to day requires daily care including changing his diaper as needed, dressing appropriately for the weather and use of sunscreen and bug repellant if necessary, and assisting him to keep good hygiene and eventually, aiding with his toilet training during the day. We are looking for someone who can help him develop routines and schedules to ensure he has adequate physical activity, rest and playtime. There will be occasional assistance with transporting our older daughters to and from the school bus or school activities.
Nanny Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Child Care Provider, Babysitter, or similar role
- Familiarity with the stages of child development
- Experience in managing the daily routines of children
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Excellent understanding of child discipline methods
- Knowledge of health and safety guidelines
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals and snacks
- High school diploma; Further training in child development is a plus
Herdsman position:
The care and welfare of a cattle ranching operation is what this role is responsible for. We are looking for a humble learner who seeks first to understand and then to be understood. One who possesses excellent communication skills with a focus on active listening and clear, effective dialogue. Can demonstrate performance as a servant leader who focuses on the details. Someone who has strong organizational skills with an emphasis on time management, responsiveness, and maintaining a clean, efficient work environment. Along with a strategic thinker with a keen understanding of people, processes, and the cause of things. This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed is required.
Herdsman Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree and/or two (2) years of experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Certification, or willingness to become certified.
- Experience handling cattle. Horseback riding is a must.
- Understanding of regulations applicable to the business, including safety, environmental, and animal welfare standards.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Stand for 8 hours at a time.
Housing included for the couple, but will not be furnished- except for a stove, microwave, and refrigerator!
