Household Manager (Position has been filled 10/14/26)
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Household Manager to oversee every aspect of keeping a 12,000 sq ft home and property running in excellent condition! This person will identify, vet, and manage the full roster of service providers and contractors such as landscaping, IT, lighting, pool and hot tub, and general building maintenance and repair, inside and out. A major focus would be negotiating and working with vendors in a way that reflects our values and earns their respect without requiring our direct involvement. Beyond day-to-day oversight, this role relies on a proactive maintenance, repair, and replacement program: anticipating problems before they arise, keeping our house manual current, and scheduling work well ahead of need so we avoid emergencies. When larger projects come up, this person will coordinate contractors, build realistic plans and budgets, and manage the work to completion on time, on budget, and to our standards.
Alongside vendor and project management, the Household Manager will run the daily operations of the house such as grocery shopping, cleaning coordination, car fueling and maintenance, laundry, and managing our housekeeper, with whom the candidate will build a strong, collegial working relationship with. This position includes support when we are entertaining: preparing for overnight guests, sourcing chefs and service providers for dining and events, and staging and overseeing dinners and gatherings at the house. Looking for candidates who give great attention to detail to execute consistently!
We need someone who can schedule all of this around our lives, not the other way around. We hope to find a candidate who is aware of our daily rhythms and use of the house when planning maintenance and repair work to minimize disruption. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating between our family’s needs and outside vendors’ schedules. The role also includes administrative support such as tracking household expenses and coordination with our family office; flexibility and the ability to juggle diverse, sometimes unpredictable tasks is a must, along with a flexible schedule to match.
