Ranch Manager
We are seeking an experienced Ranch Manager to oversee daily operations at a Ranch in Frio County. This hands-on role centers on livestock care for cattle, goats, horses, chickens, and birds. You’ll handle daily feeding and monitoring, tagging, branding, and vaccinations, along with breeding management and record keeping.
You’ll also manage the land and infrastructure that keep the ranch running. That means rotating livestock between pastures to prevent overgrazing, mowing and maintaining fields for healthy grazing and hay production, and inspecting fences and coordinating repairs or new construction. You’ll maintain irrigation systems, wells, and water tanks, along with tractors, trailers, and other equipment, using basic mechanical skills to keep machinery working. Upkeep of animal pens, barns, and facilities, plus periodic solar panel maintenance, rounds out the day-to-day work. This position will be in charge of managing a crew of five labor workers who are essential in getting all the work done. Candidates who show great leadership and are extremely hands-on are welcome to apply; we aren’t looking for a delegator in this role!
The role also includes the business side of the ranch. You’ll oversee on-site hay cultivation, working with contract labor to cut, bale, and transport hay, and coordinate delivery logistics for hay sales. You’ll order high-quality feed from local and national vendors and keep accurate inventory records for feed, veterinary supplies, and ranch materials. If you’re self-motivated, mechanically capable, and experienced with livestock and land management, we’d love to hear from you!
